* Oil Transformers
Oil transformers primarily use mineral-based oil and cellulose paper (kraft or aramid) in their insulation systems. This proven combination provides excellent thermal and dielectric properties at relatively low cost. So popular and effective are these units, all other transformer designs with respect be paid to them. Theyare still unparalleled in terms of cost, among all the available options. The inherent weakness of a mineral oil-filled transformer is, of course, flammability, which is why transformers are usually oil installations in the open air or indoor plants, which have elaborate means of fire protection are limited.

VPE transformers are more resistant to harsh environments and wet as the CPI type counterparts.

* Epoxy Dry-type
Epoxy coated, or "epoxy shielded" dry type devices provide the advantages of better environmental protection, minimum noise, high basic impulse levels and better short-circuit strength as cast coil types. Epoxy shielded transformers are also usually cheaper, more flexible, smaller andeasier. There are usually two types of epoxy coating transformers - in one, a VPI dry-type is a coat of epoxy paint, where, in the other, the epoxy paint is used as a complete replacement for the polyester sealant.

Epoxy coated transformers can be ideal for environments that may be contaminated with acids, alkalis and chlorides may be suitable. They are also resistant to the effects of salt water and high humidity, so find numerous applications in the areas ofthe concentrations of these problems.
* RESIBLOC Epoxy Cast Dry-type
